The City of Albufeira, Portugal Albufeira is located on the Algarve Coast of Portugal, about 45 kilometers northwest of Faro and is a very popular tourist town, especially during summer. This is a small lighthouse located on a platform at the beach. Behind it you see the beach below and Albufeira on the cliff.     There are several inclines and declines while walking through town. Some streets are quite small but quaint and most of the structures are white in color.   This is a restaurant seen in town. The charming looking exterior walls are covered in a mosaic style with seashells of all kinds.   The town is full of little boutiques, restaurants and pubs. At night the town really comes to life.   A lonely black cat sitting in one of the alleys of the town.   This is a gorgeous view of Albufeira and the coastline at night. In the distance you can see the lights of Vilamoura.   When you want to go to the beach from the historical part of town, there is a platform with an elevator that transports people in both directions. It comes quite in handy as the town itself is on a cliff. Once at the bottom, you can walk halfway around the cliff seen in the picture. There are several people fishing from that point. There are also other possibilities to go to the beach from the other side of town without having to use the elevator.   The other direction is a long and wide beach with plenty of space. You can continue walking and the further you go, the less crowded it will be.   When you continue walking along the beach, you can see Albufeira from the distance.   This little piece of historical information about Albufeira.       All text and photos found on this website are our own.
