When in Seligman, it is obvious that the town was once part of this historical street. Practically every shop, hotel or restraraunt had Route 66 signs and a few shops are dedicated to the street, offering souvenirs and such. Some more than others. When driving west out of Seligman, you get the feeling you expect to see on the Route 66. A long stretch of highway with a feeling of freedom and openess. A funny experience on this stretch of highway are the billboard signs. You will find many groups of 4 signs, lined up in a row and rhyming with each other were advertising the Burma Shaving Cream. Poor Buffalos! This shack was at the backside of one of the shops. It was covered with signs and license plates from all over. Funny sign showing the distance to all sorts of places. Most important, the small Route 66 sign at the top. Kingman, Arizona was the starting point of the Route 66 journey.
