Sand World 2007 in Travemünde, Germany - “Travelling through Time” Sandworld was an annual exibition in Travemünde, Germany between the years 2002-2007. Each year, a new subject is covered and the theme for 2007 was “Travelling Through Time”. All exibitions are grouped together according to specific topics such as: Greek Mythology, The World of Literature, Famous Paintings, Famous Buildings, Historical Events, Transportation, Evolution, Fashion, Music, etc.... Each theme group displays sand sculptures of the past until present. One has to take a ferry over to the exibition which is across from the town of Travemünde and the cost of the entrance for an adult is 7 Euros (includes the price of the ferry). The exibition will exist until September, 2007. Because of financial reasons, the 2007 Sandworld this was sadly the last exibition of this kind. A special hardening sand is used to create the life-like sculptures to preserve them from weathering.
